Demi Lovato Speaks About Bullying Experience

Sometimes it’s comforting for bully victims to know that a star has also had a problem with bullying. Disney actress Demi Lovato, who has starring roles in “Camp Rock” and “Sonny with a Chance” has recently confided about her bullying experiences on the Ellen Degeneres show.

Bullying was so bad for Demi that she had to stop going to school and be home schooled. Demi told Ellen on her show:

I never really understood why [I was being bullied] until looking back.  I had a different lifestyle then everyone else.  I want to help with bullying,” she says. “Because there are girls who can’t just up and home-school and focus on their career.

Demi also has a message that she shared on YOU TUBE for victims of bullying.

Demi joins a long list of celebrities who are now speaking out about what happened to them during their childhood years and how bullying affected them. Hopefully their speaking out will help someone who feels alone in their pain from bullying understand that even famous people have had to deal with bullying in their lives.

  1. Please document these events……….be able to prove they are true……….do not slander, the truth is the truth…….. and then post the Family Tree of the Bully on here, list the entire family and their place of employment and where they all attend school, be sure to use the city, county and state. Peer disapproval has always been the best medicine for such behavior. I bet when the parents get a taste of the humiliation it will stop or at least slow down. When someone does a search for this issue on google, etc., we will then see the name of the BULLY and their family, school place of employment and any other available information. I would probably even list their address and the cars they drive. Let us put a stop to this.

    • Hi SJS – I think there is something to be said for publishing the bullies and their information if that is what you are saying, but slander and repercussion have to be considered. Just as the issue of having a sex offender list can blackball some wrongly accused people, what could this do to a youth bully as the years go by. I believe we have to work psychologically with both the victims and the bullies to change their behaviors and help them recover. Certainly interested in more feedback on this concept.

  2. Child abuse is now are very common. It totally massed a child’s growth. Like Demi, a number of girls are the victim of this type bullying. So we have to take tough steps to prevent this________

  3. It’s great that someone like Demi Lovato has brought this issue to everyone’s attention. She’s faced some demons of her own, that’s for sure. Thankfully, she can now speak out against bullies with a confidence that other girls can look up to.
